The result of my online questionnaire (which was completed
by the public) shows interesting reading based on the 9 questions that were
asked. 90% of the public would prefer the magazine to be based on band
information to Solo Artist with 23.33%. This indicates that in today climate
bands are deemed to be found more interesting that solo artists. When designing
my magazine I intended to in-corporate this. Nearly 67% of the public would choose
the magazine to be imaged based. When designing my magazine I intend to add
many pictures to fit the needs of the public. The majority of the public voted
that they would prefer the colour scheme to be genre based. I will make certain
indie friendly colours are used such as reds, which are can be found in indie
magazine such as NME and Q magazine. The public have indicate that they would
prefer both news of up coming albums & gigs making them joint favourites as
both scored 62.07%. I will ensure that at least one of these topics is used for
my double page spread article. When asked sexual preference for genre music
although the public voted ‘don’t mind’ at 46.67 male artists came a close
second with 40%, meaning I will hold no sexual preference when designing the
publication. However, I will try to use a male model if possible. My target
audience is based around 16-18 year olds who are more likely to buy the
magazine due to it being the younger generation that are more in tuned to indie
music. I will bear this in mind when planning my topics for the magazine to
ensure my magazine gets properly marketed. The majority of the public are
willing to pay up to £3 for each publication. Suggesting my magazine should not
exceed the £3 mark even if is more of a high end product. The most popular
preference of magazine release is weekly, so I intend to release a new
promising music magazine every week. As I could not come up with a name for my product
I let the general public decided upon a name for my magazine. The most popular
and suitable recommendation for the magazine was Euphoria which I have chosen
to keep.
